5 months after Rick starting on its trainer career, being alone with Iris proved to be too much for both. In need of a partner, Zephir was obtained from the PokéMart as an Eevee. He had the quickest evolution process of any pokémon Rick has had so far, being exposed to a Moss Stone at the same day he was aquired. Zephir is a very pacific pokémon which spends most of his day sleeping on the treetops or any patches of sunshine while performing photosynthesis. As such, the air arround it is constantly purified. Despite that, he's still well aware of the surroundings. He's also highly curious - if something gets nearby, he will probably keep focus on it, untill he loses track. Knowing Iris for the longest time, he has grown more attached to her than the other pokémon. Still, when circs call, he'll help any pokémon when needed.
In general, and it's a trait that is shared by most of his species, Zephir prefers not to fight an opponent head on, and most of the time he sticks to a supporting role. He usually stays on the backline, strengthening his teammates with Helping Hand and Baton Pass and protecting them from ailments. His small size also helps this supporting role, as it not only makes him a harder target to hit, he can also stay very close to the pokémon that he's supporting. In a more active role, he will use Razor and Magical Leaf as supressive fire, and entangle the opponent with Grass Knots to make them easier to deal with. Zephir keeps the distance most of the time, but in the case he actually has to step in and fight by his own - which he might volunteer if things get harsh - he gets really close to the opponent to strike with Leaf Blade. He's also capacle of quick bursts of speed. For a pokémon of his size, his body is actually quite durable, especially his leaves, and he can easily regenerate if the weather isn't too cloud. However, they're also highly vulnerable to fire and ice, and even though he can heal itself from any poisoning, toxic substances in contact with him are easily absorbed and can be really harmful. Also, despite his ability to clean the air through photosynthesis, if the air is too much poluted, he'll eventualy start getting sick.
The following are the moves used the most in the National Park. These serve as guidelines for how they're normally performed by this pokémon. Depending on the situation, they may be used in other different ways.
Baton Pass: Zephir is surrounded by an aura and passes any changes to the pokémon he touches.
Bullet Seed: Shoots multiple seeds from his mouth at the target.
Double-Edge: Charges at the opponent at high speed. Zephir ends up getting hurt on the impact.
Grass Knot: Zephir is surrounded by a green aura and vines start growing out of the ground, which try to snare the target. He can also knot two pieces of grass together for a more stealthy trap.
Grass Whistle: The bulb on Zephir's chest grows closer to his mouth and he blows it. The sound makes the pokémon who hears it fall asleep, but some may resist it.
Growth: Zephir's body starts glowing and he increases in size.
Heal Bell: The bulb on Zephir's chest grows closer to his mouth and he blows it. The sound soothes those who hear it, as well as curing ailments and small wounds.
Helping Hand: Zephir is surrounded by an aura, which is passed to another pokémon he touches. The recipient will have its next attack's power increased.
Iron Tail: Zephir's tail glows and turns into iron. He then slams the target with it. It can also be used to block attacks.
Leaf Blade: The leaf on Zephir's head glows green and forms into a long blade, which he uses to slash the opponent, or to deflect some projectiles. He can also use the tail instead, or both.
Magical Leaf: Creates and shoots colorful leaves that can be controled at will. He can turn Razor Leaves into Magical Leaves.

Protect: Creates a force field around him. Against weaker attacks, he might just block it with the tail.
Quick Attack: Tackles the opponent with a quick burst of speed.
Razor Leaf: Zephir swings the leaf on his head and shoots razor-sharp leaves at the target.
Reflect: Zephir becomes surrounded by an aura and creates a barrier in front of him.
Refresh: Zephir starts glowing and cures itself from poisoning, burns and paralysis.
Sand-Attack: Zephir swipes his tail, shoving dirt at the opponent. Only works in certain terrains and when the opponent is at a short range.
Substitute: Creates a clone of itself with leaves.
Sunny Day: Zephir starts glowing and intensifies the sunlight.
Swords Dance: Zephir's tail and the leaf on his head glow and form into blades. He then swings them, increasing their size.
Synthesis: Recovers from injuries by gathering the sunlight. It is less effective if the sky is cloudy or where there's no sunlight.
Wish: Zephir closes his eyes and becomes surrounded by a sparkling aura. A few moments later, a teammate will be surrounded by the same aura and healed from injuries.
Worry Seed: Fires a seed from the bulb on his chest which prevents the target from sleeping.
X-Scissor: Zephir's tail and the leaf on his head glow purple and he slashes the opponent with them in an X like pattern.
